Helping the public to understand mosquito "bite" prevention and the stages of the lifecycle

Campaign Platform

PROTECT: Protect the people from mosquito-borne disease, proactively by using all means available that have been proven to be safe and effective, including but not limited to increasing surveillance and larviciding.

SAVE: No tax increase is necessary, as current millage rates are sufficient. I will strive toward future tax reduction.

OPTIMIZE: Improve operational efficiency with greater in-house capability and advancing cutting-edge technology.

SPECIALIZE: Preserve Anastasia Mosquito Control District's independent status for a greater cost savings and quality of service and maintain five board members specifically dedicated to mosquito control.

BALANCE: Balance environmentally-friendly methods with high level of protection against mosquito -borne disease.

FACTS VOTERS SHOULD KNOW:

1. Mosquito Control & Pest Control have separate licenses
2. Anastasia Mosquito Control District owns 18 acres off SR 16 (for the purpose of consolidating in a centralized location)
3. Anastasia Mosquito Control District has approximately 4.8 million dollars in reserve
4. Consolidation cost is estimated at 2 million
5. Selling substations will bring an estimated 1 million back to the District
6. Consolidating from 4 stations to 1 will bring an estimated annual savings of 28,000 dollars
7. Anastasia Mosquito Control District has 27 employees (7-Northwest station, 3-Hastings station, 17-Main station, 0-Ponte Vedra station)
